Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Portland .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

    The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

    Andrea was awesome very helpful showed me different technique. It was a fun afternoon of taking the street photography in Portland. I would totally do it again and really appreciated her expertise knowledge and photography and helping me through the basic settings and giving me a 101 in photography again.

    I did not know what to expect. being outside and the weather was cool. Thought it should have been inside a classroom setting to start out with. Being at the waterfront park had it's distractions of a public park dealing with people and noise of this location. But I did learn more about photography skills which is what I had hoped to do.

    Bill has been a photographer for over four decades. Starting as an assistant photographer in a large commercial studio in Pittsburgh, PA and moving on to his own studio for over fifteen years. His photography has taken him to locations ranging from the Alaskan Iditarod race to the world's fastest bicycle in California and the BMW factory in South Carolina. Experienced in all film formats from 35mm to 8” x 10” and PhaseOne, Nikon and Sony digital systems.
    He is currently living in Portland, OR where he spends his time with his family and their dog Kaia and playing in multiple bands as a drummer.

    Each year my husband and I gather friends and do a sunrise Hike to welcome in the 4th of July and celebrate independence Day by welcoming a beautiful sunrise. We began our hike at the base of Ski Bowl in the dark at 2:30 am , bundled for the cold morning, head lamps lighting our path ahead, hiking sticks and friends in tow! This sunrise did not disappoint, magnificent colors, contrasted by the morning fog below, all as the backdrop for the show stopper herself....Mt. Hood.

    While on a 2-week self-driving tour of Iceland, I stopped to photograph a lighthouse. When I turned around and started walking back to the car, I saw Eystrahorn mountain. I had been so focused on the lighthouse, I almost missed the mountain. Moral to the story: When shooting landscapes, sometimes the best shots are behind you.

    Thank you for the consideration.Background to this photo.A couple of years ago on our local community page I saw a photo of a tree covered in bioluminescent fungi saying it was found in Gerroa, 5 minutes drive from me. Wow how amazing, so I set out to find it and photography it too. Since then I developed an interest in fungi and look forward to Autumn when there is plenty about.     Mesa Arch is about a 25 minute walk from the parking lot in Canyonland National Park. At night, it's the darkest sky I've ever seen. This photo represents 20 stacked images of the Milky Way combined together in Starry Landscape Stacker. The result required the scene to be slightly brightened in post to bring out the foreground.
