I did not know what to expect. being outside and the weather was cool. Thought it should have been inside a classroom setting to start out with. Being at the waterfront park had it's distractions of a public park dealing with people and noise of this location. But I did learn more about photography skills which is what I had hoped to do.

In 2018, we visited Portland, Oregon for the first time. This trip had a deeper significance for us, as it came on the heels of Hurricane Maria, which devastated our home in Puerto Rico in 2017. The hurricane left us without electricity and water for four months, pushing us to the brink of despair.Initially, we bought tickets to move to Oregon permanently, seeking refuge with friends who had relocated there years ago. However, as our business began to recover and essential services were rest

Title or Location: Stub Stewart State Park Hilltop area
This was the day of famous Northern Lights visible in most of the North America. Stubs Stewart is the most ideal dark area for star gazing so I reached there around 11pm. As expected, it was full of enthusiasts. The lights were predicted to be at peak between 10pm - 2am. Around 2pm, when we though the "show was over", the lights started getting incredibly bright, and that is when this picture was taken. Interestingly, the lights were bright in some regions and other regions were faded enough to

I was in Madras for a Bird Dog event. My wife and I got married a year ago and planned to go to Iceland for our five year anniversary. It has been our dream to see the northern lights. That dream came early. I was sitting out side with a friend when the lights started showing. I ran in and woke up my wife to come look. We sat outside all night looking at the Beauty of this! It was spectacular! Visible to the naked eye. We were blessed to watch the colors dance for hours!

As anyone who chases milkyway photos will tell you, they take some careful planning and often a lack of sleep. Charlies Hut is in the Scenic Rim. It's about a 2hr drive from home, and with the help of Photopills, we could see that the moon would have set with the milkyway still visible at about 4am. So alarms were set for 1.30am, coffee was made and off we went. I use the intervalometer on my Canon 6D mark ii to shoot between 15-20 images of the sky. The lens I used was a Samyang 14mm, set

May 10 the northern lights hit a G5 storm, a KP index of 9, the highest it will go, and the best storm we've seen in over 20 years. I drove my 10 year old son north to see them, this was a chance of a lifetime. I managed to get several amazing photos. Canon R6M2, RF10-20mm lens at 10mm, 30sec at f4, iso 1000, manual focusing. This was looking more north-west as most of the bright colours could be seen to the south, west and just north of us.

Title or Location: Tacking Point Lighthouse, Port Macquarie
Last February, I left Sydney with my friends at 6pm to capture the first Milky Way view of 2024. I was very anxious because I saw a lot of clouds on the way, but I was really happy to see clear skies as I passed Newcastle. When we arrived at the lighthouse, fortunately we were the only ones in the group, so we were able to take photos without any disturbance. The lighthouse light, which was not too bright, was very helpful in filming.
