I did not know what to expect. being outside and the weather was cool. Thought it should have been inside a classroom setting to start out with. Being at the waterfront park had it's distractions of a public park dealing with people and noise of this location. But I did learn more about photography skills which is what I had hoped to do.

Captured at Silver Falls State Park, this photo offers a more secluded perspective of the waterfall. I framed it intentionally through the surrounding mossy trees and fresh spring foliage, rather than the usual unobstructed angle. I wanted to highlight the feeling of discovery, as if you?ve stumbled upon the falls through the forest.

Title or Location: The Oregon Zoo
The Oregon Zoo is a symphony of colors, a vibrant tapestry of life from every corner of the world. But on that particular day, it was the intrigue of the flamingo exhibit that caught my attention. As I approached, camera in hand, the light was perfectly casting a glow on the water as the flamingos glided along. Among the flock, one particular bird stood out. It approached me with an equal curiosity as I. It captured me as I captured it. The result, I believe, speaks for itself. It's more than ju

This picture was taken using a concept called Ultra Violet Induced Fluorescence (UVIF). I used a macro UV lighting kit with a built in bandpass filter. I then used a black box to block out visible light. The glowing droplets are a fine mist of tonic water because quinine fluoresces under UV light.

This photo was taken from the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront on August 17, 2024, at 8:45 PM, looking southeast across the Willamette River. I had planned an overnight stay to photograph downtown Portland and see what the evening light might offer. As the full moon rose over the Marquam Bridge, the scene felt quiet and balanced. I used a Nikon Zf with a NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR lens, mounted on a tripod. A slow shutter speed helped capture the moonlit atmosphere and a bit of motion fr

I love exploring Toronto, where I've been living for a while now, with a camera, or more often just with a mobile phone. And looking for unusual angles. This place in the center of downtown on King Street always looks different depending on the weather, time of day, wind... This time I was shooting late in the evening and waiting for the flag to straighten out.Shot on a Samsung s21 mobile phone, edited in an editor Snapseed/

This shot was taken along with 3000 others images on my first ever photo shoot during Covid. I hired a model I had seen and had come to do pool shots with another Photographer and he suggested I hire her and conceptualize the shoot. I?m not a professional and had no props but I bought some fabric and I used my leaf blower to make that effect. I periodically go back to those pictures and rework them with my iPhone apps for varying effects. You can see more of my work on Instagram. That day creat

Thank you for considering my photo for Photo of the Week! I have a number of bottle brush trees in my back yard, and birds love the blossoms when they bloom in the Spring. I usually see numerous hummingbirds and sparrows, but I saw this gorgeous bird one afternoon resting in the branches. I was able to get a couple of shots off before it flew away.
