Steven was a great instructor. I had just purchased my camera a few weeks prior to the event and he was able to help me learn to use my camera as well as teach some photography basics for me to practice. I found the class very helpful and encouraging to continue practicing my photography.

I did not know what to expect. being outside and the weather was cool. Thought it should have been inside a classroom setting to start out with. Being at the waterfront park had it's distractions of a public park dealing with people and noise of this location. But I did learn more about photography skills which is what I had hoped to do.

Steven Myat is a Burmese filmmaker, photographer, and storyteller with years of experience in capturing the beauty and raw emotions of life through his lens. Since 2016, he has been photographing and traveling the world with the goal of visiting every country. With a keen eye for detail and emphasis on in-the-moment feelings, Steven brings a visual experience for those who wish to share their very own stories with the world.

He believes that this philosophy can be applied to all aspects of life, including art, and that imperfections and flaws can add depth and character to a piece. In his work as a filmmaker and photographer, Steven strives to capture the beauty of real life, which is often messy, imperfect, and unpredictable. By embracing the imperfect and accepting the natural cycle of life, he hopes to create work that is authentic, compelling, and emotionally resonant.

Title or Location: Haystack Rock Cannon Beach Oregon
I was visiting Haystack Rock for a surprise proposal and was waiting for the couple to arrive. As I was sitting there waiting I noticed this beautiful scene. The sun was shining through the clouds perfectly, the life guard tower was dripping in the golden light from the sun, and the sky was displaying amazing colors. I lined up the shot and as soon as I clicked the shutter button I knew I captured something breathtaking.

When visiting Tucson, AZ in spring we stopped by Oro Valley Farmers Market on the grounds of Steam Pump Ranch. Taking my camera for a walk touring the property, I came across a row of chicken coops in a state of disrepair. The scene screamed to be photographed in black and white.

This was a bit of a process. Ultra Violet Induced Visible Fluorescence requires darkness and a pure source of UV light. I made a black box out of PVC tubing and a few dark sheets and I have an Adaptalux macro UV lighting system. The glowing droplets are a mixture of tonic water and vegetable glycerin. The tonic water glows because of the quinine and the glycerin adds viscosity. I changed the white balance to fluorescent to neutralize some of the blue/purple hue. The flower is an Asiatic Lily. I

Title or Location: Silver Falls State Park, Oregon
Captured at Silver Falls State Park, this photo offers a more secluded perspective of the waterfall. I framed it intentionally through the surrounding mossy trees and fresh spring foliage, rather than the usual unobstructed angle. I wanted to highlight the feeling of discovery, as if you?ve stumbled upon the falls through the forest.

People often wonder why I bring such a large lens to the Zoo. I used a Sony G lens with a focal length of 300-600mm for this shot. When I visit the San Diego Wild Animal Park in Escondido, my objective is to take pictures that don't feel like they were taken at the zoo. In this case, the close-up of the tiger does just that, and you are brought into his focus. You can feel the intensity of his stare!Never stop capturing the moments!

I am new to photography, and this was my very first attempt at a golden hour sunset photo. I had arrived plenty early to set up, but quickly got discouraged because I could not seem to get the exposure right when shooting into the sun. Just when I was ready to give up, the sun got low enough, and suddenly everything exploded with color. I was very happy with the photo at first, but now wish I had moved more to my left so I could cut the bridge out of the image. That white thing across the wa
