Really enjoyed this event. The location was great allowing more diverse subjects and shots which generated a lot of questions and conversations on how and why you might take the picture. Always appreciate pointing out potential shots. (Newbys missed things)

I really enjoyed the photo walk, it was such a nice way to slow down and explore parts of Portland I don?t usually pay attention to. I was surprised by what I ended up capturing? little details and scenes I probably would?ve walked right past on any other day. It reminded me why I love photography ? it helps me notice the beauty hiding in the ordinary.

This was my first time participating in one of these meetups. I found Hayes to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciated his suggestions for: making use of available light; using a reflector; how to compensate for a green cast (because of the surrounding foliage); how to shoot a walking model. All-in-all, I had a good experience.

I bought a Ttartisan 100mm soap bubble bokeh lens. It imitates some of the vintage lenses with this particular effect. The "bokeh" was from battery powered string lights. For the cologne connoisseurs this brand has some very good scents.

Title or Location: Bearded Iris before Bloom
Every year in the spring the Bearded Irises return. I often capture their journey from pre to post bloom. This one had little water droplets on it and I wanted to get a unique composition so I desaturated the yellow and green channels then changed the hue a bit on the red channel for a little razzle dazzle.

I have a few Alliums growing in the backyard. This was before the flowers fully bloomed a small black and yellow spider just happened to set up camp on it. To give a sense of scale the flower was about 2-1/2" across and I couldn't really see the spider without the camera and ultra macro lens.

I enjoy my photography in gardens. You never know what you will find in a garden. 99 of the times my camera has a 100mm macro lens on it. To me, It just opens up a whole different world whatever may be the bloom status in the garden. This was one such day. I was actually about to walk out of the garden and head home. Sprinklers had gone off and right at the gate there was this cobweb on bushes that now had gathered water droplets. Almost like as though diamonds were caught in that web instead

This photo was out of a bouquet of sunflowers given to me by my grampa. Which made it absolutely beautiful when I looked over and saw the little heart in the disk florets of the sunflower. I knew I had to capture it.

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
